Zackary Allen Louis Lee VanPelt was born October 24, 1994, in Minneapolis, MN, the middle son of Tina VanPelt. At the young age of 3, Zack's family moved to the White Earth Reservation, spending most of his youth in Naytahwaush, MN. He attended school in Naytahwaush, Twin Valley and Mahnomen before joining the National Guard at the age of 18. Zackary was a PFC with the HHC 2-136 CAB out of Moorhead, MN. He was a tank operator and loved being active in the MN National Guard. Being a guardsman, Zack was faced with many challenges which also brought him many great rewards. He was able to travel to several places including Lithuania last summer and met many wonderful people along the way.
Zack entered the work force through the SEP Program for two years, then to the Village Store in Naytahwaush followed by the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen. He was currently working as a Blackjack Dealer at the casino and as a PCA for his nephew, Jayzee. When Zack wasn't working he enjoyed time spent with his friends and family, especially his nieces and nephews. He also spent three wonderful years with a very special girl, Ellora Accobee. One of his favorite past times was playing the card game Magic the Gathering and he would often travel to places near and far to enter Magic Tournaments. Although gone from sight to soon, Zackary will live on in the hearts of many forever.
