Yvonne (Hanson) Olson, age 72, of Twin Valley MN died suddenly on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

Yvonne Janice Hanson was born on December 1, 1949, in Hawley, MN, to Elden and Helen (Tatley) Hanson.  Yvonne attended high school in Hawley and graduated with the class of 1968. Yvonne married the love of her life, Keith Olson, on July 20, 1968. Keith was in the Air Force and the couple was stationed in Wichita, KS, for a short while before Keith went to Thailand and Yvonne moved back home with her family. After Keith arrived back in the United States, the couple moved to Twin Valley to assist Keith's father with his business. While raising their growing family, Yvonne and Keith lived in Twin Valley, Mahnomen, and then Rugby for a few years where Yvonne ran a small daycare. In 1979, the Olson family moved to Twin Valley where they finally made their forever home. Yvonne began working at the Twin Valley Nursing Home in the housekeeping, then as a nursing assistant, was employed there for over 35 years.  She then made the switch to the Mahnomen Nursing Home where she worked as a CNA until her retirement in June of 2021 after over 10 years of service.

Yvonne enjoyed spending time working in her garden where she grew vegetables and beautiful flower gardens. She would bake and can with her homegrown produce, often preparing one of her family's favorites, rhubarb crunch.  Being an avid baker and cook, Yvonne loved collecting new recipes to try. She also loved to take 4-wheeler rides in the evening around the farm in the summertime. Keith and Yvonne attended St. Olaf Lutheran Church until that was closed, then went to Ness Lutheran Church of rural Gary.  She was involved in the St. Olaf Preservation Association, Mahnomen County Homemakers Organization, Gideons Auxiliary, and the Isaac Walton League Conservation Group.  Most important to Yvonne was her family.  She took a yearly trip to Phoenix, AZ to spend time with her sisters for a week. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.   She will be greatly missed by her loved ones.

Yvonne is survived by her husband of 53 years, Keith; sons, Troy and Trevor Olson; daughter, Tammy (Mark) Fuglie; grandson, Allan Fuglie; great-grandchildren, Lilly Claussen, Agda Fuglie, and Ingrid Fuglie; brothers, Arlan (Aziza) Hanson and David (Randee) Hanson; sisters, Donna (Arden) Feser, Marla (Jim) Wegleitner, Janet (David) Dickerson, and Rita (Gary) Green; and many extended relatives.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Emily Fuglie; and brothers, Myron Hanson and Barry Hanson.

Funeral Services will be held at on Friday, June 24, 2022, 2:00pm, with a visitation starting at noon, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Twin Valley, MN. Burial will be at St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery.
