William R. Lee, 92, Ada, Minnesota, died Thursday, September 15, 2016, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice.

William Roger Lee was born April 25, 1924, at home on a farm near Perley, MN, the son of Hector and Inanda Lee. He attended rural school at the Live Wire District #20 School. Bill graduated from Borup (MN) High School before attending North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND. He started working in the United States Navy shipyards at Bremerton, WA, as an electrical assistant.

He met his future wife, Margaret Slininger and they were married on June 2, 1944, in Ada. Bill enlisted in the United States Army in February of 1945 and served in the Philippines until October 1, 1946. After his discharge, he returned home to Minnesota and started farming with his father. He later purchased a neighboring farm and farmed for over 40 years. Bill and Margaret spent over "20 years as snowbirds" in Arizona and enjoyed 2 trips to Norway visiting relatives. They moved to a home in Ada in 1989 and he continued with volunteer work.

Bill is survived by his wife, Margaret, 3 daughters and 3 sons, Jeanie (Monty) Todt, Tampa, FL, Karen (Rev. Stan) Synstelien, Fergus Falls, MN, Marilyn (Jerry) Stordahl, Halstad, MN, Steven (Judy) Lee, Anoka, MN, Wayne (Lynn) Lee and Barry Lee, both of Perley, MN, one sister, Garnet Holm, Moorhead, MN, one brother-in-law, Burton Slininger, one sister-in-law, Florence Erickson, both of Twin Valley, MN, 16 grandchildren, Christopher Todt, Erik Todt, Jason Synstelien, Jennifer Synstelien, Corey Synstelien, Amy Eichler, Tiffany Lee, Mike Boone, Eddy Boone, Anthony Lee, Mercedes Lee, Raina Stordahl, Wyatt Stordahl, Dustin Lee, Nicole Lee, and Kristin Lee, 13 great grandchildren, Ethan Synstelien, Emily Synstelien, Brian Synstelien, Mark Synstelien, Alex Eichler, Dylan Synstelien, Taylor Synstelien, Kyndra Synstelien, Sawyer Lee, Lincoln Lee, Emma Lee, Jazmine Boone, and Kolby Boone. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Irene Gilbertson, and two brothers, Orville and Grant.

Funeral: 11:00 Friday September 23, 2016, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hendrum, MN.

Visitation: Thursday from 5:00PM to 7:00PM with a 6:30PM Prayer Service at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN.

Interment: Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hendrum, MN
