William "Bill" Miller, age 76, died February 29, 2016, in Viking Manor Nursing Home, Ulen, MN, and his wife, Phyllis Miller, age 78, died January 17, 2015 in Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

William Leonard Miller was born May 10, 1939, the son of Clifton and Myrtle (Wentloeffer) Miller in Seattle, WA. At the young age of one, he moved with his family to Fargo, ND, where he was raised. After graduating from high school, Bill attended NDSU where he received his degree in Pharmacy.

Phyllis Elaine Bechtle was born September 6, 1936, the daughter of Robert and Florence (Larson) Bechtle in Fargo, ND, where she was raised. She attended high school in Fargo, graduating with the class of 1954. Phyllis attended NDSU, where she graduated in 1958, with a teaching degree.

On September 12, 1960, William and Phyllis were united in marriage in Fargo. The couple made their home there while Bill completed his education at NDSU. After he received his degree in Pharmacy he was employed as a traveling Pharmacist throughout Minnesota including positions at Mayo Clinic, Twin Valley, Hawley, Wahpeton, and Red Lake Falls, along with several other communities. During this same time, Phyllis was employed as a kindergarten teacher in Fargo, Alexandria and several other schools. In 1979, Bill and Phyllis purchased the Ulen Drug Store which they operated together for over 20 years. Phyllis worked alongside her husband in the store as a Pharmacy Technician. The couple sold the pharmacy business in 1997, and for several years, Bill continued to work as a fill-in Pharmacist in the surrounding communities. In recent years, Bill had been in declining health due to an injury in 2011.

While Bill enjoyed being a HAM radio operator, an avid Green Bay Packers fan and also playing cards, Phyllis spent her spare time doing crafts, needlework and listening to music. Bill was a member of HAM Radio Association, MN & ND Pharmacy Association and the Ulen Lions. Over the years, Bill and Phyllis were both active in the MN Gideons and were members of the Hawley United Methodist Church. Phyllis was also a member of the MN Pharmacy Association.

Phyllis died January 17, 2015, and Bill made the Viking Manor Nursing Home his residence since last summer.

Phyllis and Bill are survived by their children: Robert Miller of Eau Claire, WI, Jeff Miller of Moorhead, MN, Jage Bechlle of Eugene, OR, and Melissa Miller of Moorhead, MN.

Phyllis is survived by a sister, Deloris Knight of Amenia, ND.
