Wendy L. Armstrong, age 50, of Ogema, MN, died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Shooting Star Casino, Mahnomen, MN.
Wendy Louise Armstrong, the daughter of Donald and Barbara (Antell) Armstrong, was born January 4, 1961 in Rapid City, SD. She grew up and attended school in South Minneapolis, MN. In 1979, Wendy graduated from Central High School in South Minneapolis and began working. In 1983, she met the love of her life, Merlin "Merle" Stone and they began their life together. Together they lived in Oregon and later California for several years. In 2003, Wendy and Merle moved to Bemidji, MN and after a year moved to Mahnomen, MN. They spent a few years there before moving to their current home in rural Ogema.
Wendy was talented with her hands and made many beadwork projects. She also loved listening to music and spending time with her family.
Wendy is survived by Merle Stone of Ogema; one son, Philip Stone of Ogema; one brother, Martin Carrillo of Winnebago, NE; and one sister; Cheryl (Jessie) Armstrong of St. Paul, MN; as well as Merle's children: William Jones, Matt Beckett, Kerry Padgett, Jamie (Mark Foster) Jones, Melanie Stone, Amanda Jack, Miranda Jack, Jolene Jack, and Rebecca Jack; Merle's many grandchildren including: Vanessa, Heather, Melissa, and Melinda; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Visitation will be Monday, November 21, 2011 beginning at 5 pm at the White Earth Community Center, White Earth, MN and go until the funeral service on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11:00 am also being held at the White Earth Community Center.
Interment will be at the St.
Benedict's Calvary Catholic Cemetery, White Earth, MN .
