Obituary

Wendall Ronald Everson, 74, Stanchfield, MN, died February 9, 2009 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN.

Mr. Everson was born August 21, 1934 in Ada, MN to Sam and Alma (Birkeland) Everson. He grew up on a farm northeast of Twin Valley, MN. Wendell helped with farm work, went to school in Twin Valley, and was confirmed in faith at Zion Lutheran Church there. He served his country in the United States Army from 1953-1956, where he received his GED and was stationed in Germany.

Upon returning home he worked for several years with Hoganson Construction, building elevators. In 1957, he married Joan Thea Gunnufson. They settled in Maplewood, MN where he worked for M.A. Mortenson constuction as a carpenter for most of his career.

He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and a member of the Braham Moose Lodge.

Wendell is survived by his daughter, Cindy Cloutier, Blain, MN; two grandchildren; a brother, Glenn (Avera; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his sister and three sons.

A graveside memorial service was held on Saturday, May 23rd at 10:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Twin Valley.
