Wayne Warren, age 32, of Ogema, MN, died suddenly on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at First Care Medical Services in Fosston, MN.
Wayne Anthony was born October 17, 1976, in Rapid City, SD, the son of Ronald and Patricia (Alexander) Warren. At the young age of 2, Wayne moved with his family to Princeton, SD, where he grew up and attended school. In 1996, his family moved to the Waubun, MN, area and he began working at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, MN. Wayne met Andrea Bellanger and together they had a son, Shawn, in 1997.
Wayne later worked at Audubon Engineering, Team Industries and had been employed with White Earth Sanitation for the past three years. Wayne met Marie King and they were currently living in Ogema and together they have a 2 ½ month old son, Richard.
Whether it was hunting, fishing, ricing, netting or mushroom picking, Wayne loved the outdoors and enjoyed teaching and sharing these hobbies with all those around him. He also liked to take time to travel, read, cook and spend time drinking coffee with family and friends. Wayne didn't go anywhere without his cup or thermos of coffee.
Wayne leaves behind his fiancée, Marie, and infant son, Richard Warren at home; children Shawn Warren and Alyssa Bellanger, both of Waubun; step-children, George and Mahlynda Burnette at home; his father, Ronald A. Warren, of White Earth, MN; three brothers: Paul Warren (Nell Kier) and Ronald T. (Elizabeth) Warren, both of White Earth, and Shawn Warren (Ann Garrigan) of Pinewood, MN; two sisters, Holly (DJ) Watters, of Cottage Grove, MN, and Claudette (Michael "Stink" ) Bevins, of Ogema; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Warren, in 2004.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 11 am at the White Earth Community Center, White Earth. Services were led by Pastor Jim Hinson. Special music was provided by the Manning Family and the W.E. Boyz Drum Group. Serving as pallbearers were Lyman Lowry, Mike "Stink" Bevins, John Hummingbird, Tim Warren, Ryan Warren, Jeff Potter, Jason Bellanger, and Ronnie Warren. Honorary bearers were Kevin Mills, William Jackson, DJ Watters, Dean Bishop, Gene Soyring, Dean Bellanger, Wade Borah, William Hummingbird and all of Wayne's nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters. Visitation began on Monday, January 19th at 5 pm with a time of sharing and remembrance at 7 pm at the White Earth Community Center and visitation continued until the time of the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Warren Family Cemetery, at a later date.
