Watch Wayne's Funeral Service

Wayne Gunderson, age 78, of Ulen MN, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen, MN.

Wayne Curtis Gunderson, son of Oliver and Elpha Gunderson was born on March 31,1944 in Hawley, MN.  He grew up on the family farm east of Ulen and attended district # 29 country school near his home. Following his graduation from Ulen High School, Wayne worked for farmers in the Ulen area.  Later he worked for American Crystal Sugar in Moorhead, MN for several years.

Wayne was baptized, confirmed his faith, and remained a lifetime member of Atlanta Lutheran Church, rural Ulen.  When the church closed, he attended Hitterdal Lutheran Church.  Wayne loved fishing, mowing the lawn, and being outdoors.

He is survived by two brothers; Edmond (Mary Ann), Fargo, ND; Edsel (Lorraine), Round Lake near Ponsford, MN; two sisters, Linda (Darrell) Phelps, Sioux Falls, SD and Brenda (Dennis) Vangrud, Omaha, NE. Surviving also are several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, an infant brother, Orwin, and twin brother Wallace.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 2:00pm, with a visitation 1 hour prior, at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley. Burial will be at Atlanta Lutheran Cemetery in Ulen, MN.
