Wanda A. Walls, age 47, of Mahnomen, Minnesota, died Monday, June 28, 2010 at Innovis Health Systems in Fargo, North Dakota.
Wanda was born in Lansing, Michigan, on May 17, 1963 the daughter of Robert and Cheryl (Cable) Peach. Wanda moved with her family to Oregon, Virginia, Ohio, and eventually returned back to Oregon. Following Wanda's schooling, she traveled around parts of Nevada and California. She loved being in Nevada and was making plans of moving back.
While traveling, Wanda met James Walls and they were later united in marriage on February 26, 1989 in Carson City, Nevada. The couple continued traveling, moving to Minnesota in 1996, where they lived in Detroit Lakes, McIntosh and moved to Mahnomen in 2001.
Wanda's pride and joy was her granddaughter, Serenity. She loved to spend time with her and spoil her as any grandmother would. In addition to her love for traveling, she also loved to be around babies and animals.
Wanda's favorite pastimes included reading, especially Stephen King and watching reality television shows. She liked to paint and bake, making the best blackberry cobbler around.
Wanda is survived by her husband, James, of Mahnomen; daughter and granddaughter, Staci Crook and Serenity Decker, of Fargo; two sons, Corey and Stephen, of Mahnomen; one sister, Anna Mickel, of Salem, Oregon; three brothers: Donald Peach of Fargo, David Peach of Fort Smith, Oklahoma, and Douglas Peach of Seattle, Washington; two nephews, Daniel and Jason Mickel; and one niece, Samantha Jo Peach.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 3 pm at the Embassy Community Center in Fosston, MN.
