Walter L. Lutnes
Walter L. Lutnes, 85, Erskine, MN, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, in Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine.
Walter was born November 30, 1924, on the home farm, near Fertile, MN. His parents were Arthur and Oline Lutnes. He attended #114 Lake Region country school near Fertile, before starting to farm with his uncles. Walter was united in marriage to Helen Grega on November 5, 1962, at Tabor, MN. They lived near Erskine and he was a member of Union Lake Free Lutheran Church. He had also worked for American Crystal Sugar in Crookston, MN, and for Erskine Manufacturing. He continued farming and also raised cattle and hogs. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and visiting with friends.
Walter is survived by his wife, Helen, of rural Erskine, MN, one daughter, Jane Hole, rural Winger, MN, three half-brothers, Vernon Lutnes and Gerald (Iola) Lutnes, both of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Lanny (Paula) Martin, Pembina, ND, one half sister, Joan (Brad) Jones, Sherwood Park, Alberta, two granddaughters and one great grandson: Larissa (Jason Awender) Hole, and their son, Breylan, of rural Gary, MN, and Teanna Hole, Winger, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his half sister, Bea, and his son-in-law, Jeffrey Hole.
Funeral Service: 2:00PM Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Union Lake Free Lutheran Church, rural Winger, MN.
Visitation: 5-7PM Wednesday at Erikson-Vik Funeral Home, Fertile, MN.
Burial: Union Lake Free Lutheran Cemetery.
