Walter Hornbeak, 58, Twin Valley, MN, died Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Benedictine Living Community of Ada, MN.
Walt was born March 30, 1955 to Willis Sr. and Marguerite (Spencer) Hornbeak in Ocala, FL and lived in Moss Bluff, FL. He met Debra Linder of Strathcona, MN, and was married on March 20, 1976. In 1979, they moved to Thief River Falls and lived there until they divorced in 1996. Walt worked at Land O Lakes turkey plant, Artic Cat, Best Western and Thief River Solid Waste Department. In 2001, he moved to Wisconsin with his son, Daniel. He worked at Bishop Fixture and Millwork. He also worked with Daniel scrapping metal.
Walt enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, hunting coon with his coonhound "Bruiser." He also like fishing, riding motorcycle, working with wood, making crafts, and working in the garden.
Walt is survived by his son, Christopher (Sheila) and granddaughters Destiny Hornbeak and Bailey Jean Shivers, of Twin Valley, MN, daughter Amanda Hornbeak (Doug Stack), of Twin, Valley, MN, son, Daniel Hornbeak (Sara Thayer) and granddaughter Stephanie Thayer, and grandson Brian Miller, of Amery, WI, brother Willis Carl Hornbeak Jr. of Ocala, FL, step sister, Carlene McDuffie, Jacksonville, FL, special friends, Jody & Sue Qualley, Blake, Chloe, Aryanna, Eliza, and Harper, and many aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces. He was preceded by his daughter Heather Marie Hornbeak, and his father and mother.
Memorial Service: 2:00PM Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Fredrikson Funeral Home, Ada, Minnesota
Visitation: One hour before the service at the funeral home.
