Waldon "Wally" Jensen, age 65, of St. Cloud, MN, formerly Twin Valley, MN, died Monday, March 16, 2015, in his home.
Waldon Vernon Jensen, son of Wesley and Vivian (Johnson) Jensen, was born in Ada, MN, on July 28, 1949. He grew up east of Twin Valley and attended Twin Valley High School. Wally graduated with the class of 1967 and attended vocational school for a time. In 1968, Wally entered the United States Army and proudly served his country during Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge, he continued to serve with the Army National Guard for 18 years. As a young man Wally lived in Massachusetts with his aunt and uncle for time. Wally returned to MN and graduated from Detroit Lakes Vocational School after studying sales and marketing. Wally was a salesman at heart and worked as both an auctioneer and a car salesman for many years. He made his home in Fergus Falls, MN, and worked at the State Hospital for much of his career. He later lived in Glyndon, MN, and managed a trailer park community until a stroke caused a permanent disability. Wally moved to St. Cloud eight years ago where he had made his home since. Wally loved to visit with everyone and was interested in a variety of activities. He was always going somewhere and doing something. Never idle, Wally didn't let his disability slow him down. He treasured his family and liked to watch his great nieces and nephews in their sporting events. He also had a collection of miniature cars and tractors which he often gave away to visitors. He loved music of all kinds but especially enjoyed Christian music. Wally's faith was evident throughout his life. Wally proudly became a grandpa eight months ago with the birth of Colton, whom he loving called "Ole." He had a heart of gold and will be missed by so many.
He is survived by his daughter, Kallie (Josh) Jensen of Dilworth, MN; his mother, Vivian Warnsholz of Detroit Lakes, MN; two brothers, Myron (Kandy) Jensen of Waubun and LeRoy (Marsha) Jensen of Thief River Falls, MN; three sisters: Geraldine (Jerold) Nesland of New York Mills, MN, Janet (Randy) Myers of Dilworth, and Denise (Bob) Knoblach of St. Cloud; one grandson, Colton Jensen; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Wesley; step father, Daryl Warnscholz; and his son, Ryan.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, March 20, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley. Visitation was two hours prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Officiating was Pastor Robert Behling with Jolee Habedank serving as pianist. Pallbearers were Kallie Jensen and all of Wally's nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearer was Wally's grandson, Colton. Military honors were provided by the Twin Valley Nesseth-Lien Post #431 of the American Legion and the MN National Guard Honor Guard.
Burial was in the Twin Valley Memorial Garden Cemetery, Twin Valley.
