Vivian
Warnsholz
Jan 31, 1931 — Jun 24, 2026
Vivian Jensen-Warnsholz, age 95, of New York Mills, formerly of Twin Valley and Detroit Lakes, MN, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the Perham Living Center in Perham, MN.
Vivian Eldora Johnson was born on January 31, 1931, in Twin Valley, to Alvie and Ellen (Estrin) Johnson. The youngest of five children, she grew up in Twin Valley and attended school there.
On July 18, 1947, Vivian was united in marriage to Wesley Jensen. Together they made their home near Faith, MN, where they raised their family. Vivian devoted herself to caring for her children while tending large gardens, maintaining the home, and helping on the family farm. As her children grew older, she worked for several years at the Twin Valley Bakery before beginning a career with Tri-Valley as an outreach specialist until her retirement on January 1, 1996. Wesley passed away on October 3, 1982.
Vivian married Daryl Warnsholz on December 6, 1986, and together they made their home in Twin Valley until his passing on August 30, 1997. In 2007, Vivian moved to Detroit Lakes, where she enjoyed the next 15 years. In 2020, she moved to New York Mills to live with her daughter, Geraldine, where she remained until her passing.
Vivian was happiest when she was busy. She took great pride in her gardens and enjoyed preserving the harvest, sharing home-canned vegetables with family and friends. Holidays were made even more special by her homemade cookies, fresh buns, and other favorite baked treats. A talented crocheter, Vivian lovingly made afghans and blankets that became treasured keepsakes for each of her grandchildren and family. She also loved fishing, whether spending a sunny day in the boat or ice fishing in the winter, always hoping to reel in the biggest catch.
Vivian was a longtime member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and, after her marriage to Daryl, became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Twin Valley , where she enjoyed serving with the church's volunteer groups. Above all else, Vivian treasured her family. Time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren brought her the greatest joy, and the memories they shared will be cherished for generations to come.
Vivian is survived by her daughter: Geraldine (Jerry) Nesland, Janet (Randy) Myers, and Denise (Bob) Knoblach; sons, Myron (Kandy) Jensen and Leroy (Marsha) Jensen; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Wesley Jensen and Daryl Warnsholz; son, Waldon; grandson, Ryan Jensen; and siblings: Edna (Adrian), Walter (Orva), Roy (Verna), and Robert (Nadine).
The family of Vivian want to thank the wonderful people at Vivie Hospice and Perham Health who took such great care of Mom and the family.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 2:00PM, with a visitation starting at 1:00PM, at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley. Burial will take place at St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery, rural Twin Valley.
