Vivian Loretta Parsons, 90, of Ada, MN, died Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo, ND, where she had resided since February.

Vivian was born April 3, 1921 in Fargo, the daughter of Alfred and Della (Wickum) Minette.
She attended school in Fargo and graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1939. On Januray 11, 1941, she married Maurice Parsons of Ada. They owned and operated the Ada Bakery for over 40 years, retiring in 1981. Maurice died March 19, 1993. Vivian moved to the Fairmont in Moorhead in the fall of 2003 to be closer to her children.

Vivian was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Ada. She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America for over fifty years. She also belonged to the VFW and Legion Auxillary and is Ada's last Gold Star Mother. She volunteered at the Senior Center in Ada for several years after her retirement. She loved riding her bicycle around Ada, enjoyed her sewing and birthday clubs and time at the lake with her family.

Vivian is survived by four children, Curtis (Linda) Parsons of Moorhead, Nancy (Carl) Potratz of Zumbrota, MN, Gary (Mary) Parsons and Hal (Ann) Parsons, both of Fargo; ten grandchildren, Brent (Stephanie) Parsons, Marni Parsons, Ryan Parsons, Rodi (Matt) Guse, Brian (Kelly) Potratz, Jill (Josh) Wieme, Grant Parsons, Jake Parsons, Seri (Jesse) Moch and Melissa Hennen; ten great grandchildren; two brothers, James Minette of Niceville, FL, and Kenneth Minette of Peoria, AZ; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

In addition to her husband, Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Donald Minette, and one son, Gregory Parsons.

Funeral Service: 11:00 on Monday, June 27, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.

Visitation will be held one hour before the services at the church.

Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery.
