Vivian Erickson's Obituary
Vivian E. "Titter" Erickson, age 91, of Twin Valley, Minnesota, died Tuesday, January 05, 2010, in the Twin Valley Living Center, Twin Valley.
Vivian E. Bakke was born March 31, 1918, the daughter of Raymond and Lina (Larson) Bakke in Ada, Minnesota. She was raised in Twin Valley where she attended school, graduating with the class of 1936. As a young lady, Vivian worked for her father and uncle at Bakke's Meat Market in Twin Valley. On January 19, 1941, Vivian was united in marriage to Morris Erickson at Zion Lutheran Church in Twin Valley. The couple made their home in Marshall, Minnesota, for a short time before returning to Twin Valley to live. Vivian and Morrie were very dedicated parents, caring for their handicapped daughter, Dianne, until her death at age 16. Morrie died on November 10, 1989. In the mid-2000's, Vivian moved into the Normandy Apartments until becoming a resident of the Twin Valley Living Center about three years ago.
Vivian was a life time member of Zion Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for several years and was past president of the Ladies Aid. In her spare time, Vivian enjoyed reading, playing cards and dancing, but she truly treasured the time she spent with her family and grandchildren.
Vivian is survived by a daughter, Vicki Miller of Waubun, MN; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Dianne, one sister, one brother and a son-in-law, Dennis.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, January 8th, at 10:00 AM in Zion Lutheran Church Twin Valley. Visitation were one hour before services at the church on Friday. Officiating was Pastor Charles Bade with Danette Gwin serving as organist. Special music was provided by Celebration and Matt Miller. Rob Erickson delivered the eulogy. Pallbearers were Loren Erickson, Bob Erickson, Rob Erickson, Lowell Erickson, Lyle Erickson, Steve Erickson and Ornell Erickson. Honorary Pallbearers were Matt & Kathie Miller, Brooke, Logan and Seth, Mike & Fara Loge, Kade and Bryn, Rob Erickson, Shelly Martin, Kim Erickson, DeAnna Folkerds, DeVonne Lee and Nita Prange.
Burial was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Twin Valley.
