Obituary

Vivian Ann Johnson was born July 16, 1936, in Flom MN, to parents, Nels and Anna Johnson.  Vivian had many wonderful siblings being Lilian, Roy, Johnny, Violet, Harry, Darlene, twins: Dennis and Donald, Rita, and Renae.  Vivian spent her early years of life running around and playing with her beloved family. She had numerous memorable stories she'd share from her childhood.  As Vivian grew older, she worked as a nanny and in the fields to pay for her things and be able to finish her schooling.  In her school years, Vivian was involved in Girl's State and was on the Homecoming Court.  She was the most amazing artist and was honored in the school yearbook with her pictures.  In fact, her prophecy in high school was to one day go to Hollywood and pursue being an artist.  Instead, Vivian then fell in love with her one and only, Jerome Clayton Anker, also being from Flom.

Vivian and Jerome had a love that was one of a kind.  She waited for Jerome to return home from the Korean War and they were united in marriage on July 15, 1955.  Jerome and Vivian began their family having their first born, Jerry Dean Anker.  Following Jerome's passion for construction, the family moved around quite a bit as he built Grain Elevators. Eight years later, their second born child, Deborah Lynn Anker, came into their lives. During this time, the growing family moved back to Flom. Five years passed, and their third and final child was born; Sandra Ann Anker. They all then moved to Twin Valley Minnesota until the year of 1987.  While in Twin Valley, Vivian was mostly a homemaker. When the beloved children grew older, she worked as a home health aide for 10 years, providing for the family.  In 1987, Vivian and Jerome moved to Glyndon, MN, where they lived for 14 years until they finally traveled to the "big city" of Moorhead, MN.  During this time, the family continued to grow with marriages and grandchildren. She held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, Brandon and Brittney Bucholz, and Chase and Brie Pulczinski.

In the year of 2001, Jerome suffered a massive stroke and Vivian never left his side through any of it.  She was his full-time caregiver for 17 years.  During this hard time, Vivian couldn't wait in the thought of becoming a great grandmother to Evelyn and Lydia Bucholz.  Vivian and Jerome held great pride in their wonderful family.

In 2017, Jerome passed away and Vivian went to Manor Care Nursing Home where she stayed until her final days.  She said countless times that she just wanted to be reunited with Jerome. They were married 63 amazing years and she didn't feel complete without him by her side, as he was her "purpose" for many years.

Vivian loved her visitors at Manor Care and received so much love.  Her favorite surprises consisted of Diet Coke, chocolate, and lipstick.  No matter what, she loved to look beautiful (even though she didn't even have to try). Vivian was always put together from head to toe throughout her life.  As of the holidays, Vivian never failed to make every single one very special, which was something her family looked forward to and cherished.  Vivian was a remarkable woman to say the least. Selfless, caring, and always brought a smile to everyone's faces. Vivian Anker passed away September 7, 2019.

Vivian is survived by her son Jerry, daughters Deb (Mark) Bucholz, and Sandy (Greg) Erickson, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Vivian will always be remembered as a loyal wife and partner, wonderful caring mother, and the proudest grandma/great grandma to ever live. She was beautiful inside and out and will be watching over and protecting us all throughout every journey of our lives until we are reunited with her one day in paradise. Long live her legacy as she is loved and will be missed by many.
