Virgil Prestegord, age 64, of Twin Valley, MN, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016, in his home.

Virgil Harris Prestegord was born October 4, 1951, the son of Martin and Irma (Allrich) Prestegord on his grandparents' farm near Twin Valley. He grew up on a farm east of Twin Valley and was baptized and confirmed his faith at Wild Rice Lutheran Church, rural Twin Valley. He attended Twin Valley High School, graduating with the class of 1970. As a young man, Virgil lived on a hobby farm between Twin Valley and Ada while working for Wayne Brandt for over 20 years. Due to health issues, Virgil moved back to Twin Valley where he had made his home since.

Virgil was a history buff and enjoyed visiting about historic things. He also enjoyed playing a good hand of Rummy and watching television. Virgil treasured the time he spent with his family and nieces and nephews.

Virgil is survived by two brothers, David (Phyllis) Prestegord and Stacey (Verona) Prestegord all of Twin Valley and three sisters: Phillis (Lynn) Weium of Moorhead, MN, LeAnn Kraft and Hiedi Boe, both of Twin Valley and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
