Viola Sollie, 89, Fertile, Minnesota, died Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Fair Meadow Nursing Home, Fertile, MN.
She was born January 15, 1924, to Even and Ragna (Noto) Lee, at Gary, MN. She graduated from Gary High School and was united in marriage to Lester Sollie on November 18, 1945, at Gary. She was a seamstress and loved to bake bread and make lefsa. She also loved making quilts and afghans for all her family. Vi was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, in Fertile. She belonged to the Ladies Aid and enjoyed working at the fair stand and baking pies. She also served on the Fair Meadow Nursing Home Guild. In her later years, she was a member of the exercise group, the Red Hats, and volunteered at the Nature Center and Meals on Wheels. Viola adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved making gifts for them.
Viola is survived by her children, Susan (Bruce) Carlson, Maple Grove, MN, Timothy (Marcia) Sollie, Tacoma, WA, Daniel (Kim) Sollie, Maple Grove, MN, Alden (Lynnell) Sollie, Moorhead, MN, Marla (Greg) Stuhaug, Fertile, and Terrie (John) Enlow, Glyndon, MN, 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, two sisters, Janet (Gordon) Skredtvedt, Ada, MN, and Lavon Rice, Fertile, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lester in 2003, her daughter, Nancy, great grandson, Jaden Karsten, two brothers, and one sister.

Funeral: 11:00AM Wednesday, May 1, 2013, in Hope Evangelical Free Church, Fertile, MN.

Visitation : Tuesday, April 30, 2013, from 6-8 pm with a prayer service at 7:30 pm in Erikson-Vik Funeral Home, Fertile, MN.

Burial: Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, Fertile, MN.
