Verona C. Krogstad, 87, Ada, Minnesota, died Friday, August 22, 2014, at the Barrett, MN Care Center.

Verona was born on March 21, 1927, at the Ada Hospital, the daughter of Alfred A. Grosnick and Cora (Rasmusson) Grosnick Lovelace. Verona lived in Ada until her 8th grade year when her family moved to Hillsboro, ND for one year. They then moved to Washington state where Verona went to high school until she moved back to Ada in 1945. She was employed by the Ada Telephone Company when she met and married Earl McNamar in 1946. Verona and Earl had one son, Jay Dean, born in 1947. Verona was a long time employee of Ada Rexall and Engelhart drug stores. She spent many hours with Earl watching their son, Jay, play basketball, football, and baseball. Her husband, Earl, passed away in 1967.

Verona married Don Krogstad in October of 1968. They had many good years together farming southeast of Ada and spending winters in Arizona. Don and Verona enjoyed visiting with friends and relatives on their farm. Their "Never Rest Ranch" was always a busy place with visitors, projects, and large vegetable and flower gardens. Many close friends were made during their winters in Arizona.

Don and Verona retired from farming and moved into Ada in 2000. After Don passed away in June of 2004, Verona continued living in Ada until 2010 when she moved to Fergus Falls Pioneer Cottages and then Barrett Care Center where she was close to her son. Verona was a member of the Ada VFW Auxiliary, Ada Garden Club, and Grace Lutheran Church in Ada. She loved having people stop for coffee, and she always made a special point of entertaining and playing with kids of any age who came for a visit. She made every child feel special. Verona is coming home to be buried in the town she loved - Ada.

Survivors include her son, Jay (Robin) McNamar, of Elbow Lake, MN; brother, Bobby Grosnick (Terry) of Veronia, OR; sister, Beverly Borland, of Lewiston, ID; sister-in-law, Rickie Grosnick of Mesquite, TX; two granddaughters, Andrea Loe of North Las Vegas, NV and Jaime (Tyrone) Canaday of Brooklyn, NY; four great-grandchildren: Zian Loe, Mylee Loe, Haneulee Canaday, and Mina Canaday. Preceeding Verona in death were her parents, her husbands, Earl McNamar and Don Krogstad, brother Bud Grosnick, and her special aunt, Myrtle Bemis.

Funeral: 11:00AM Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.

Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN
