Watch Vern's Memorial Service

Vern Philip Asleson, age 89, passed away on Wednesday April 17, 2019 at Martin Luther Care Center, Bloomington, MN.  Vern was born October 6th, 1929 in Ulen, MN.   He graduated from​ Ulen High School and continued his education earning degrees from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and Luther Seminary, in St Paul, MN.​ Vern was ordained a Lutheran Pastor at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ulen on June 10, 1956. ​ ​Vern served as a Lutheran Pastor in Wisconsin, North Dakota and Minnesota.​ Vern went to Israel twice to serve as a tour guide in that country.  Vern returned to​ Minnesota and he taught English at Albert Lea, MN.   Prior to Vern's retirement, he was a​ Courier Driver in the Minneapolis area.  Vern also authored several books which were published. ​

Vern is survived by 1 sister, Verona (Joris) Sundseth, Yakima, WA, and many nieces & nephews. ​ He was preceded in death by his parents Henry & Helma Asleson, six brothers and two sisters. ​

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ulen, MN. Inurnment will take place at the North Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery.
