Verdine Ramstorf, 80, of rural Gary, Minnesota, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at the Fair Meadow Nursing Home, Fertile, Minnesota.
Verdine was born May 19, 1930, near Fertile, MN, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Quarleiter) Gullekson. She attended country school, then Fertile High School before graduating from Crookston Agriculture High School.
On May 29, 1948, Verdine was united in marriage to Edward Ramstorf at his parent's home near Ada, MN. They moved to Moorhead, MN, where she had worked at the Fairmont Creamery. They later bought a farm near Gary, MN, where they raised their 3 children and farmed for the next 55 years. Verdine was active in her church, teaching Sunday school, as well as working at the Ada Hospital. She was known for her excellent cooking and enjoyed special times with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Verdine and Ed had wintered for Texas for 30 years. Ed died in 2007.
Verdine is survived by her children: Mark, Irvine, CA, Bruce (Karen) Ada, MN, and Mary Ellen (Bruce) Aakhus, Moorhead, MN, 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one brother Ray (Gelene) Gullekson, Beltrami, MN, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ed, two brothers, Rolland and Lynn, and two sisters, Mary Lou and Eunice.
Funeral: 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 25, 2010, at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Ada, Minnesota.
Visitation: 5-7 PM with a Prayer Service at 7 PM at the Fredrikson Funeral Home, Ada, Minnesota
