Vanessa Goodman, age 33, of Bemidji, MN, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

Vanessa Ann Marie, the daughter of Joan Goodman, was born on November 10, 1989, in Minneapolis, MN. She was raised in the White Earth, MN, area spending most of her time with her grandparents.  Over the years, Vanessa lived throughout northern Minnesota, making her home in Detroit Lakes, Mahnomen, Waubun, Walker, and finally Bemidji.  Vanessa was a very private person and enjoyed hanging out with her close friends.  She also loved going for walks and attending pow-wows.  Vanessa was blessed with one son, and although she was unable to see him often, she always held him close to her heart.

Vanessa is survived by her significant other, Douglas Wind; her son, Maceo James White; two brothers: Aaron Goodman and Shyenne Basswood Sr.; aunt and uncle: Mike Goodman and Char Lee; and many extended family members.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her mother, Joan; and her sister, Michele Goodman Walker; and uncle, Joseph Goodman.

Funeral Services will be held at the White Earth Community Center on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 11:00 am.  Visitation will begin Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 5:00 pm and continue until the funeral on Wednesday.  Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in White Earth, MN, in the spring.
