Truman Wang, age 85, of Winger, MN, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN.
Truman Owen was born June 26, 1928, the oldest child of Arthur and Mary (Hogenson) Wang. He grew up in the Winger area and graduated from Fertile High School in 1945. In 1952, Truman was united in marriage to Lois Scott. To this union three children were born. The couple lived in the Twin Cities for a few years before settling in Winger. Upon moving back to Winger, Truman began "Wang Truck & Equipment", an operation that is still going and is currently owned and operated by his son, Jeff. Lois and Truman later parted ways and Truman continued to reside in Winger.
In 1995, Truman married Judith Hoff and they made their home together in Winger until Judi's death in February of 2008. He had just recently moved to Erskine for a rehabilitation stay.
Truman enjoyed the simple things
in life. He was very proud of his children and loved them dearly. He liked mowing the lawn and working, as he never really retired. When he wasn't working or supervising, Truman enjoyed watching television and playing with his dog, Mitzi.
Truman is survived by two sons, Jeffrey of Maple Lake, MN, and Christopher of Gillette, WY; one daughter, Deborah Ann Sall of Winger, MN; one grandson, David Sall of Great Falls, MT; one brother, Lindsey (Carol) Wang of Billings, MT; three sisters: Shirley Mork of Winger, Joanne Stordahl of Fargo, ND, and Ann (Kenny) Stuhaug of Corpus Christi, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter-in-law, Brenda Wang, and his cherished canine companion, Mitzi.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church in Winger.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
Burial will be held at Calvary Lutheran Cemetery in Winger.
