Tracy Monson, age 56, of Fertile, MN, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 9, 2025, at her home in Fertile, MN.

Tracy Allene Monson was born on February 16, 1969, in Crookston, MN, the daughter of Arvid and Priscilla (Leines) Monson.  Her childhood years were filled with activities on the farm and time playing on the banks of the Sand Hill River with her sister, Tammy.  They were always finding ways to make and save their money for the annual Polk County Fair.  Tracy attended school in Fertile and transferred her senior year to Crookston High School where she graduated with the Class of 1987.  Following high school, Tracy worked at the nursing home in Crookston for a few years.  She then married and welcomed two children, James and Shelby.  As her kids grew, so did the number of kids that hung out at her house and affectionately called her "Mama T".  Over the years, Tracy tried her hand at a few different jobs.  In addition to the nursing home, she worked at the fair, babysat, bartended and even started her own cleaning business in 2001.  In 2007, Tracy moved to Winger, MN, to manage the 2 Heart Hereford Ranch for Larry Solberg.  Years later, Larry and Tracy would be united in marriage in August of 2022.  After Larry's death in 2024, Tracy returned to Fertile to make her home.

Tracy will be remembered for her great sense of humor, being witty and a bit sassy.  She definitely stood out in the room, but she also worked hard, had a big heart, liked to take care of others and loved animals.  Tracy enjoyed board games, playing cards, especially whist, listening to music, singing karaoke, and watching reruns of Golden Girls, Saturday Night Live and Judge Judy.  She also treasured the time with her family, having movie days with Shelby and cooking large meals like Uffda tacos for friends and family.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Tracy is survived by her children, James Clark and Shelby (Daniel) Tadych both of Fertile; granddaughter, Reagan Tadych; her mom, Priscilla Monson of Fertile; siblings: Tina (Robert) Holtman, Tammy (Robert) Stoe, Trever (Sarah) Monson, all of Fertile, and Tanya (Kevin) Ek of Thief River Falls, MN; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father, Arvid, a brother, Troy; a niece, Megan Monson; her husband, Larry; and good friend, Kenny Pergl.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm on Friday, June 27, 2025, with Words of Remembrance at 3:30 pm at the Fertile Community Center in Fertile, MN. Inurnment will be held at Faaberg Cemetery, Rindal, MN.
