Todd Mikulecky, age 68, of Hawley, MN, died on Sunday, October 15, 2017 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Todd George Mikulecky was born November 23, 1948 to George and Adella (Anderson) Mikulecky in Detroit Lakes, MN. He grew up on a farm east of Ulen, and attended school up until 8th grade at the Ulen Public School. Todd then attended the Ag School in Crookston, MN where he obtained his high school diploma. He returned to the Ulen area where he farmed with his father. Todd was united in marriage to Donna Gunderson in 1969 in Twin Valley, MN, and the couple made their home on a farm near Ulen. Todd and his brother farmed together for many years, before Todd went on to take over the farming operation. Todd was united in marriage to Lois Weerts on June 25, 1982 in Salem Lutheran Church in Hitterdal, MN. The couple made their home in Hawley, MN. Although entering semi-retirement several years ago, Todd continued assisting neighboring farmers until the time of his death. Todd was a hunting enthusiast who enjoyed both deer and bear hunting. One of his greatest hunting adventures was his Alaskan Brown Bear Hunt that resulted in a trophy bear that he proudly displayed in his basement. Todd also enjoyed boating and working on old tractors in his spare time. He enjoyed grabbing lunch and visiting over coffee with the locals. Todd never turned down the opportunity to help out his family, friends, and neighbors. His contagious smile and loving personality will be missed by all. Todd is survived by his wife, Lois; four children, Mike (Bobbi) Mikulecky of Arthur, ND, Angela Mikulecky of Hitterdal, Russell Quammen of Fargo, ND, and Pam (Paul) Guiles of Kindred, ND; six grandchildren, Mason, Taylor, Lucas, Emma, Carter, and Kate; and one brother, Gary (Eileen) Mikulecky of Sebring, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Adella Mikulecky. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Salem Lutheran Church, Hitterdal. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Inurnment will be at Calvary Lutheran Cemetery, Ulen. Arrangements entrusted to Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley.
