Thomas
Vealitzek
Sep 27, 1941 — Sep 22, 2021
Mahnomen
Thomas Willard Vealitzek, age 79, of Mahnomen, MN, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the Mahnomen Health Center.
Tom was born on September 27, 1941 at the Fosston Hospital in Fosston, MN, to parents Thomas and Bernice (Cardinal) Vealitzek. Sadly, his father passed away a month before he was born. Tom was a lifelong member of the Mahnomen area where he attended Mahnomen Public School and was a confirmed member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Tom loved being a farmer and enjoyed all the facets related to farming. He developed a keen interest in all things mechanical and could easily tear down a motor or engine, fix it and reassemble it again with no left-over parts. Tom loved the outdoors and his many hours of tinkering in the shop. He was a friend to all and especially enjoyed visiting with his many friends in the Mahnomen area, willingly helping anyone who needed his expertise.
Tom spent many years employed both at L. B. Hanson Ford, in the Implement shop, and in the Maintenance Department of the Shooting Star Casino, where again he made great friendships. His favorite place to visit in town on a daily basis was the Red Apple Cafe. It was there that he was able to keep up with events in the area and enjoy his favorite roll and coffee. Tom will be missed by all who knew and loved him
Tom is survived by his sisters: Rosemary (Vealitzek) Blaede (Steve), Bonnie (Trebesch) Eells, Linette Trebesch, and Joyce (Trebesch) Hynd (Chris); brothers, Kenneth Trebesch (Donna), Alan Trebesch (Courtney); and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice and Thomas Vealitzek; his stepfather, Walter Trebesch; infant sister, MaryAnn Vealitzek; sister, Patricia Ann Trebesch; infant brother, Baby Boy Trebesch; brother-in law, Melvin Eells; and sister-in-law, Jennifer Trebesch.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021, which would have been Tom's 80 th Birthday. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mahnomen, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in Mahnomen.
Following all Covid-19 safety protocols, and CDC guidelines, social distancing will be practiced. Masks are strongly encouraged.
