Thomas Revier, age 68, of Hawley, MN formerly of Waubun, MN died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Manor Care Center in Fargo, ND.
Thomas "Tom" Alan Revier was born January 9, 1944 in Redwood Falls, MN, the 2nd of six children to Gabriel and Eunice (Diekmeier) Revier. As a young boy, his family moved to Waubun, where he attended school. He graduated from Waubun High School in 1962 and furthered his education at NDSU, graduating in 1966. On June 5, 1965, Tom was united in marriage to Sharon Elfering in Beaulieu, MN. The couple lived on the family farm until purchasing their own farm near Waubun in 1973. Tom and Sharon farmed together until Tom's failing health forced them to sell in 2010. They retired to Hawley, MN, where they have since made their home.
Tom was an avid Waubun Bomber fan and has thoroughly enjoyed watching and following his children and grandchildren participate in various athletics. Tom was a long time member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Waubun, where he was on the Parish Council and a Confirmation teacher. He also held membership with the Knights of Columbus Mahnomen Council #2573. Over the years, Tom was active with the MCCL, Farm Bureau, serving on their first state Young Farmers' Committee, and also the Republican Party, running for the Minnesota State Senate in 1976.
Tom is survived by his wife, Sharon of Hawley; ten children: Diane (Joe) McArthur of Ogema, MN, Thomas Jr. (Heather) of Willard, WI, Paulette (Shawn) Hagen of Hawley, Patricia (Tom) Theilen of Hendersonville, TN, Janet (Brandon) Thompson of Hawley, Annette (Brad) Jernberg of Detroit Lakes, MN, John (Jami) of Fertile, MN, Anne Revier of Hawley, Patrick (Madeline) of Hawley, and Paul Joseph of Hawley; 31 grandchildren: Justine (Jason Wambach), Marie, Kellen, Ryan, Caitlin, Rachael, Rylee, and Cora McArthur; Jared, Larissa, Samuel, Izabel, Jazlyn, Nathan, Elizabeth, and Danica Revier; Gabrielle, Nicole, Sophia, and Ava Hagen; Thomas, Grace, Katie, and Isaiah Theilen; Matthew, Kira, Lily, and Gilbert Thompson; Johanna, and Peyton Jernberg; and Eve Revier; one great grandson, Grady Wambach; his mother, Eunice Suda of Mahnomen; one brother, Peter (DelJoan) Revier of Waubun; and two sisters, Rita (Ken) Wirtz of Spokane, WA and Christine (Van) Carrier of Clear Lake, IA.
He was preceded in death by his father; four children: Paul Thomas, Margaret, Matthew, and Elizabeth; two sisters, Rose McKinnon and Mary Berg; and his step-father, Louis Suda.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Waubun. Visitation will be at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Waubun from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a Prayer Service and Rosary at 6:30 PM, on Tuesday, October 16th. Interment will be at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Waubun.
