Thomas Habeck, age 78, of Twin Valley, MN, died Thursday, March 25, 2021, at the Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Thomas Otto Habeck was born at home on October 2, 1942, in Ada, MN, to Harold and Mildred (Burns) Habeck. Thomas grew up in Ada and graduated from Ada School District. Following graduation, he enrolled in the United States Air Force. Thomas was stationed in Topeka, KS, he stayed stateside for 2 years. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Ada. On July 6, 1963, Thomas and Amy Smerud were married at the Kirkebo Lutheran Church, Perley, MN. In the mid 1960's the couple moved to Twin Valley, MN, where they made their home. Tommy worked at several jobs, but his favorite job was becoming the Twin Valley School bus driver, a role he had for 28 years. He especially enjoyed taking the kids to their sporting events and felt a part of the team. Tom owned and operated Tom's Repair for many years.

Tom loved to go camping, fishing, and hunting with his family in his spare time. He enjoyed his John Deere tractors, old cars and trucks. In his down time, Tom put together many puzzles, loved raising animals and caring for his chickens and his goose, "Lucy Goosey". Tom was an active member at Zion Lutheran Church where he served as youth leader and was a deacon. Although he kept himself busy throughout his life, his favorite times were spent with his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Tom is survived by his wife, Amy Haback; daughters, Lisa (Dan) Guenther and Teresa (John) Barrett; brother, Dennis (Kim) Habeck; grandchildren: Josh, Tommy, Emily and Jack; and great grandchildren, Harper and Emersyn.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Terri Lynn; parents, Harold and Mildred; brother, Jerry Habeck; and sister, Deanna Larson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church, Twin Valley.  Visitation will take place on Monday, March 29, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 p.m. all at the church.  Interment will take place at the Bethel Swedish Cemetery, rural Twin Valley, following the service.

Following all Covid-19 safety protocols, social distancing will be practiced, and all must wear a mask to participate.
