Theodore Holl, 93, of Waubun, MN, passed away peacefully at his home on March 11, 2025, under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Ted was born in 1932, to Anthony "Tony" and Marie (Weihs) Holl and grew up on the family farm west of Waubun. A talented runner, he competed in track at Waubun High School and advanced to the state tournament in the mile. After graduating in 1950, he was drafted into the United States Army as an artilleryman. While en route to Korea, the war ended, allowing him to return home.

Following his military service, Ted attended the University of North Dakota, earning a bachelor's degree in accounting. In 1957, he began his career as an auditor for the IRS, which took him to Mitchell, SD, and later Las Vegas, NV.

After retiring in 1987, he returned to Waubun to care for his mother. His community was important to him, and he was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. He treasured time spent with family and friends.  Known for his generosity, he found joy in giving to others.

In addition to being a Civil War enthusiast, he loved being active and outdoors.  He was an avid cross-country skier. He always enjoyed helping on the farm. With a conservationist's heart, he was dedicated to battling noxious weeds—often stopping on the side of the road to pull an especially troublesome patch of thistles.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Bob & Kathy Holl of Waubun; sister-in-law, Marge Holl of Williamsburg, VA; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and a few great-grand-nieces and great-grand-nephews.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Elaine Holl, Carolyn Holl, and John "Jack" Holl; and other beloved family members.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Waubun. Rosary will begin on Saturday at 9:00 am, with visitation to follow until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Waubun.
