Obituary

Terrance G. Paul, age 61 of Roseau MN, formerly of Thief River Falls, MN, died Sunday, December 20, 2009 at his home under the care of hospice.

Terrance Gene Paul was born on April 13, 1948 to Adolph and Mary (Chromy) in Detroit Lakes, MN. He made his home in Mahnomen with his family as a child. Due to his special needs, he lived in several different homes in the state where he received special education. When he was in his mid 30's, Terry moved to Thief River Falls and lived at the Hanson Homes. In Thief River Falls, he worked a the ODC and the DAC.

Terry loved to fish, bowl, travel, and spend time with his family and friends. He was an avid reader keeping up on current events, loved sending and receiving cards and never forgot birthdays or other special days. Another activity Terry enjoyed was the Special Olympics where he participated in track, bowling and softball for over 25 years. He served on the Special Olympics Global Synod for 2 years and as a Global Messenger for several years. It was here that he had the opportunity to meet and visit with then Governor Jesse Ventura.


Terrance is survived by a brother, George (Peg) of Cody, WY; three sisters: Marcella (Ed) Peterson of Perham, MN, Joanne Terway of Burnet, TX and Carole (Pat) Mulcahy of South Saint Paul, MN.

Terrance is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ray.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Mahnomen, MN with a time of gathering one hour prior. Fr. Mario Prada and Fr. Jerry Orsino will concelebrate with pianist Gina Worms and Monica Winter as song leader.


A prayer service led by Fr. Rick Lambert will be held Friday, January 8, 2010 at 6 p.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls
