Teresa S. Littlewolf, age 44, of Naytahwaush, MN, died Friday, May 23, 2008, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Teresa was born December 17, 1963, in Mahnomen, MN, to Donovan Kier and Linda Littlewolf. As a young child, she moved with her family to Minneapolis and returned to the Naytahwaush area when she was 12 years old. Teresa has made her home in Naytahwaush since that time. Teresa worked at the Shooting Star Casino as a blackjack dealer until 1998 when she began to experience health problems.
With her easy going personality, Teresa enjoyed a good joke and laugh. She like playing cards, working puzzles, fishing, reading and dancing at area pow wows. Teresa loved spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren, Misty and Donovan. In the last few years, Teresa had taken a great interest in her native american culture and heritage. She was studying and learning the traditional ways and beliefs of her people.
She leaves behind three sons: Lowell (Celeste Peltier) Murray, of Naytahwaush, Mitchell Murray and Duane Murray, all of Naytahwaush; two grandchildren, Misty and Donovan Murray; her mother, Linda Littlewolf, also of Naytahwaush; four brothers: Ron Ankeny, of Sioux Falls, SD, Isaac (Anitra) Littlewolf, of Mahnomen, Donovan (Simona) Kier, of White Earth, MN, and Kieron (Kathy) Kier, of Minneapolis, MN; three sisters: Loretta (Scott) Johnson, of Gillette, WY, Raone Strutz, of Flandreau, SD, and Mary Jo (David) Townsend, of St. Paul, MN; 22 nieces and nephews, several great nieces, nephews and cousins. Teresa was preceded in death by her father, Donovan, and her grandparents.
Traditional Native American Services will begin Saturday, May 24, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. at the Naytahwaush Sports Complex and will continue until the service on Monday, May 26th, at 10 am.
Burial will be in the Naytahwaush Traditional Cemetery, Naytahwaush, MN.
