Turner
Oct 10, 1964 — Feb 20, 2026
Naytahwaush
Terence "Tux" Turner, age 61, of Naytahwaush, MN, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.
Terence Lee Turner, known by all as Tux, was born on October 10, 1964, to Thomas "Barney" and Lucille (Bellanger) Turner. He was raised in Naytahwaush, where he attended school and built lifelong friendships within the community he proudly called home. Tux worked for many years as a custodian at the Naytahwaush Sports Complex. He took pride in his work and in being a steady, familiar presence to so many who passed through its doors.
Family meant everything to Tux. He cherished being an uncle and loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He gave each of them their own special nickname and babysat whenever he could. Above all, Terence was most proud of being a father to his daughter, Haley. She was his greatest joy and the light of his life. Tux had a wonderful sense of humor and made friends with everyone he met. Known for his smile and quick wit, he had a way of making others laugh and feel at ease. Born with a lucky streak, Tux enjoyed playing cards, visiting the casino, and gambling. He also truly loved the outdoors. He spent many hours driving his four-wheeler, hunting, ice fishing, and leeching. Those simple, quiet moments brought him great happiness.
Tux is survived by his daughter, Haley Turner Degroat; a sister, Pat Turner; one brother, Bruce Turner Sr.; sister-in-law, Carol Turner; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Michael Turner; sister, Lynette Straub; nephews, Aaron and Michael Jr.; a great nephew, Michael III; and many aunts, uncles, and extended family members.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the Naytahwaush Sports Complex in Naytahwaush, with a potluck meal to follow. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 3:00pm on Wednesday, before the funeral service. Inurnment will take place this spring at St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery.
