Sylvia Westby, age 93, of Ulen, Minnesota, died Sunday, November 18, 2007, in Viking Manor Nursing Home, Ulen.

Sylvia Huseby was born February 19, 1914, the daughter of Ove and Charlotte (Nelson) Huseby near Twin Valley, Minnesota. She grew up in rural Twin Valley, where she attended country school.

On October 10, 1934, Sylvia was united in marriage to C. Robert Westby at her parent's home in rural Twin Valley. The couple made their home in Walworth Township where they raised their daughter and farmed for 44 years. During the 1960's, Sylvia worked part time at the Hitterdal and Waller Lefse factories.
In 1978, they moved into Ulen when their grandson, Dwight Fevig, purchased the farm. Robert died January 4th, 2001, and Sylvia continued to live in her home until June 30, 2007, when she moved to Viking Manor in Ulen.

Over the years, Sylvia baked many cakes including birthday, anniversary and wedding cakes. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and loved snowmobiling in her younger years. Other pastimes of Sylvia's included embroidery of dishtowels and quilting which she loved giving to family. She was always up for a visit and enjoyed entertaining friends and family, especially if it involved a game of cards. Upon entering the Viking Manor, Sylvia looked forward to bingo times also.

Sylvia was a member of the Viking Manor Guild and was always an active member of the churches she attended.

Sylvia is survived by a daughter, Emelyn Fevig of Ulen, MN; three grandchildren: Dwight (Mary Beth), Doyle (Wendy) and Ellen (Greg) Zillmer; eight great-grandchildren, Jason (Grethel), Joshua and Jenna Fevig, Jessica and Megan Zillmer and Alex, Jordan and Josie Fevig; and one sister, Arla Anker of St. Cloud, MN.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son-in-law, David, three brothers: Hilman, Clifford and Almer, and two sisters, Agnes Dorseth and Constance Fossum.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 20th from 5-7 PM with a Prayer Service at 7PM in the Anderson Funeral Home, Twin Valley. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 21st at 2PM in Maranatha Free Lutheran Church, Ulen. Visitation will also be one hour before services at the church on Wednesday. Officiating will be Pastor Curt Frankhauser with Mary Ann Schneidermann serving as organist and Jenna Fevig and Megan Zillmer providing music. Pallbearers will be Dwight Fevig, Doyle Fevig, Greg Zillmer, Joshua Fevig, Scott Torgerson, and Mark Huseby.

Interment will be in North Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, Ulen.
