Sylvia Athmann, age 76, of Felton, Minnesota, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Thursday, January 28, 2010, in Innovis Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota.

The oldest of three children, Sylvia Ann Roragen was born February 16th, 1933, to Joubert and Mildred (Ostun) Roragen in Fertile, Minnesota, where she grew up and attended school. On January 31st, 1953, Sylvia was united in marriage to Burwyn Athmann at Beaulieu, Minnesota. In 1957, Sylvia and Burwyn purchased the grocery store in Felton, Minnesota. They operated "Athmann's Store" until Burwyn's death in 2001.

Sylvia was one busy lady, not only working in the store - she was also mom to six children. Being mom was her first and most important job. Every memory of her will always be treasured by each of her children.

Sylvia's favorite past times included cheering on the Minnesota Twins and doing puzzles. Family was always important to Sylvia and she looked forward to "family Sundays". She truly treasured the time she spent with her children, 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren plus one more on the way. She enjoyed watching all the babies grow up.

Sylvia is survived by one son, David (fiancé, Kim Lorenzen); five daughters, Diane (Tim) Rehder and Debbie (Paul) Klevgaard all of Felton, MN, Mary (Bruce) Tufte and Judy (Arlyn) Carlsrud all of Borup, MN, Carol (Blake) Borgen of Perley, MN; brother-in-law, Don Tveita of Blaine, MN, brother-in-law, Ardell (Doris) Athmann of St. Louis Park, MN; a special aunt, Val Burslie of Fertile, MN and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister, Darlene Tveita and a brother, Milton Roragen.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, February 1st, 2010, at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Ada, Minnesota. Visitation was one hour before services at the church on Monday. Officiating was Fr. Joe DeCrans and Fr. Bob Schriener. Serving as organist was Bonnie Lee with Danny Murphy serving as cantor. Pallbearers were Brian Klevgaard, Jay Klevgaard, Jared Tufte, Blaine Tufte, Bryce Borgen and Jeff Tveita. Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Felton Cemetery.
