Steven "Steve" Olson, age 72, of Twin Valley, MN, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 3, 2024.

Born on September 9, 1952, in Crookston, MN, to Charles "Chubby" and Delores (Groslie) Olson, Steve spent his early years in Fertile before the family settled in Twin Valley, the town he would always call home. A proud graduate of Twin Valley High School's class of 1970. After graduating he took courses at the College of Science in Wahpeton before He began his career as a parts manager for Viking Snowmobile ultimately   transitioning to a long and fulfilling role with the Norman County Assessor's Office, a position he held for over 40 years until his retirement in 2016.

On November 25, 1977, Steve married Karen Jacobson at the Gary Lutheran Church. Together, they built a life centered around love and family. They were blessed with four children: Nick, Nate, Erika, and Ashley. In addition to his work, Steve took great pride in helping with the family milk delivery business. After his father's passing, Steve took over the business in 1984, running it with dedication until 2022. He also enjoyed helping with plat drawings for title companies whenever needed.

Steve's greatest joy was his family. He loved being a grandpa and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, and he looked forward to becoming a great-grandfather. Known for his quiet demeanor, Steve had a delightful sense of humor, often the target of playful family pranks, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Laughter filled their home daily.

In his earlier years, Steve enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing men's softball. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he was a devoted fan of local teams, particularly the NDSU Bison, Minnesota Twins, and college basketball. He had a unique way of enjoying the games, watching them on mute while listening to oldies on the radio. Steve also loved traveling to Duluth with Karen and friends to admire the fall colors, cruising around on his ranger, and exploring trails. He treasured the time spent with friends and neighbors during coffee hour after church.

Steve's life was defined by love, laughter, and a deep connection to family, friends, and his hometown of Twin Valley. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Steve is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen; children: Nick (Sarah) Olson, Nate (Ashley Rae) Olson, Erika (Dana) Klemetson, Ashley (Karl) Tollefson; 11 grandchildren: Carter, Keaton, Kade, Morgan, Drasyn, Aspyn, Kendyl, Drew, Kora, Brynn, and Jack; soon-to-be-born great grandbaby due in December; brother, Larry (Luann) Olson; sisters, Jennifer (Eric) Williams and Marsha (Leroy) Jensen; brothers-in-law, Mike Jacobson and Dennis Jacobson; and sister-in-law, Becky (Greg) Syverson; and many nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded by his parents, Chubby and Delores Olson, and his in-laws, Sandy and Ione Jacobson.

A visitation will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 5:00pm – 6:30pm, with a prayer service starting at 6:30pm, at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, at 11:00am, with a visitation one hour prior, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Twin Valley. Inurnment will be held at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Twin Valley.
