Steven Scott Gordon passed away on March 14, 2025, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, at the age of 72. Steve's life was defined by his hard work, deep devotion to his family, and his strong belief in faith, community, and generosity.

Born on October 2, 1952, in Ada, Minnesota, to James and Phyllis Gordon, Steve grew up in rural Borup and graduated from high school there. He attended Moorhead Tech and proudly served in the Air National Guard for six years, showing his dedication to his country.

In 1974, Steve married Debbie Kroshus, and together they built a life in Borup, raising their family while farming and operating a spraying and fertilizing business. Steve's strong work ethic and business acumen were evident to everyone who knew him. He passed these values of dedication, perseverance, and hard work on to his children, and later, his grandchildren.

Steve loved his family though not always the best at expressing his feelings, his actions spoke volumes. He worked tirelessly to provide for his loved ones, and his devotion to them was unconditional. Steve especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He took immense joy in watching them grow, attending their school and sporting events, and mentoring them in life and business. He was always their biggest fan.

Later in life, Steve started a lakes aquatic business, combining his expertise in the spraying business with his passion for the lake country he loved. This allowed him to teach and mentor his grandchildren, leaving them with valuable skills and memories.

A lifelong member of Winchester Lutheran Church, Steve believed in the importance of community and giving back. His service on the church board and his commitment to his church and community were a testament to his faith and belief in helping others. He served many years on the Borup School Board, the Borup Lion's Club, Rescue Squad, and Borup Fire Department. Steve believed in donating to many charitable organizations throughout his life as well. He instilled these values in his family, encouraging them to cherish and serve their community as well.

In his later years, Steve found joy and companionship with Lynn Munnell, who brought out the best in him. Their time together in Texas during the winter and at Long Lake in the summer brought renewed happiness to Steve's life. Their relationship was a source of comfort and joy for both of them.

Steve is survived by his fiancée, Lynn Munnell; his daughter, Shaunna (Chris) Johnson; his daughter-in-law, Shelley Gordon; his sister, Patti (Craig) Steen; his sister-in-law, Pam Gordon; and his seven grandchildren, Harley (Vanessa) Johnson, Wyatt (Kenzie) Johnson, Jesse (Taylor Popp) Johnson, Beau (Kaelin Coffin) Johnson, Nick (Kassi) Gordon, Payton Gordon, and Macey (Shane Wahlund) Gordon. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Kyla Green and Reece and Rhett Johnson, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Phyllis; his sons, Marcus and Andrew; and his brother, Loren.

Though Steve is no longer with us, his legacy of hard work, love, and faith will live on in all of us. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, March 21, 2025 at Winchester Lutheran Church, Borup, MN.

Visitation: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN, with a prayer service to begin at 6:30 PM.

Interment: Winchester Lutheran Cemetery, Borup, MN.
