Stacy Koons, age 47, of Mahnomen, MN, died on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at her home.

Stacy was born November 29, 1959, in Mahnomen to Dr. WR and Herdes (Anderson) Koons. She grew up and attended school in Mahnomen and was baptized at First Lutheran Church. Stacy excelled in school and was a very accomplished pianist, even participating in many competitions.

In 1975, Stacy was injured by a vehicle while on a hayride; sustaining injuries which left her physically and mentally disabled. Following this accident, she made her home in Grand Forks, ND, for a short time before moving to Detroit Lakes, MN, for a couple years. In the late 1970?s, Stacy returned to Mahnomen, where she resided several years at the Mahnomen Nursing Home, before making her home at the Lakes Home. Stacy enjoyed listening to music, going to We Fest and attending Lakes Home dances. She also liked puzzles and watching movies.

She is survived by three sisters: Andrea (James) Saueressig, of Fargo, ND, Valerie (Michael) Franck, of Jordan, MN, and Kimberly Anderson of Fosston, MN; and 10 nieces and nephews. Her parents preceded her in death.
