Stacey Prestegord, 55, of Gary, MN formerly of Twin Valley, MN passed away at Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, ND on Monday April 17, 2023.

Stacey Martin Prestegord was born on July 25, 1967 to Martin and Irma (Allrich) Prestegord in Ada, MN. Stacey was baptized in Wild Rice Lutheran Church and confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church. He attended Twin Valley High School, graduating with the class of 1985. While in high school and following his graduation, he kept himself busy working. Stacey married the love of his life, Verona Hovelson, on June 22, 1991 at Ness Lutheran Church, rural Gary. The couple made their home in Twin Valley and started their family. While helping to raise his family, Stacey worked hard on the farm with his father-in-law, dedicating many years. In 2010, Stacey was diagnosed with diabetes and began a 13-year battle he bravely fought until his final days. Stacey enjoyed art and took classes at the Charles M. Schulz School of Art, receiving his certification with honors. In 2018, Stacey and Verona moved to the farm and in 2020, Stacey officially retired from farming.

Stacey enjoyed the outdoors and keeping busy. Never to be idle, he filled his time four-wheeling, jet skiing at the lake, snowmobiling, deer hunting with the kids, and his favorite – mowing the lawn. Time spent indoors involved watching wrestling on TV, building model cars, and collecting die cast tractors. Above all else, the center of Stacey's world was his family. He was immensely proud of his children and his grandchildren were the light in his life, earning him the title of "Papa". Time spent together will be forever cherished by all.

Stacey is survived by his wife of 31 years, Verona Prestegord; children: Trent (Katrina), Dalton (Angela), Brock, Cody, and Carigen Prestegord; grandchildren, Ashton, Logan, Lane, Sadie "Dolly", and Carson; brother, David (Phyllis) Prestegord; sisters, Phillis (Lynn) Weium and LeAnn (Larry) Houglum; sister-in-law, Christine Dalby; and many nieces and nephews.

Stacey was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Irma Prestegord; brother, Virgil Prestegord; sister, Heidi Boe; and nieces, Tanya Thornton Walz and Kaila Dalby.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm, with a prayer service starting at 4:00, at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Twin Valley, MN.  Visitation will continue starting at 10:00am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00am on Monday April 24, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church in Twin Valley, MN.
