Shirley R. Viken, 63, Fertile, MN, died Monday, August 27, 2018, at her home near Fertile, MN, under the care of her husband, Joel and hospice.

Shirley was born July 29, 1955, to LeRoy and Lilly Farmer in Atlanta, GA, where she graduated from high school. On June 9, 1996, she married Joel Viken of Dallas, GA, where they lived for one year before moving to Fertile. They have lived in rural Fertile for 23 years.

Shirley loved her home in the country. She loved spending time working outside and especially mowing grass.  Her interests revolved around caring for her home and husband.

She is survived by her husband, Joel; daughter, Kelly L. Pigott of Maryland; stepdaughter, Kris Wilbanks, of Dallas, GA; 6 grandchildren: Ashley, Micayla, Kaylie, Patience, Hayden and Madison; 2 brothers, 4 sisters, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

Memorial Service : 11:00AM , Monday, September 10, 2018 at Erikson-Vik-Ganje Funeral Home, Fertile, MN.
