Shirley M. Redland, 80, Halstad, MN, died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at the Halstad Living Center under the care of Hospice surrounded by her family.

Shirley M. Ueland was born November 9, 1930, near Halstad, the daughter of Selmer and Minnie (Vigen) Ueland. She attended school in Halstad and graduated from Halstad High School in 1949. After high school, she worked for a time at the Halstad Bakery. Shirley was united in marriage to Roy Redland on March 4, 1950, in Halstad. They farmed near Halstad till their retirement in 1976.

Shirley was an active member of Augustana Lutheran Church. She enjoyed baking, gardening, and ceramics. She loved tracing her family tree and went to Norway in 1999 to meet many of the Ueland relatives. She was a special "Grandma" and "Great Grandma" to all the grandchildren and enjoyed many family times getting together.

Shirley is survived by two sons, Nathan (Kerry) Redland, Halstad, MN, Roger Redland, Glendive, MT, two daughters, Katherine (Ken) Mickelson, Halstad, and Faye (Robin) Stene, Halstad, MN, one sister, Georgia Lee, Halstad, MN, one sister-in-law, Donna Ueland, Ada, MN, 10 grandchildren, Tracy (Bret) Holte, Stefanie Okroi, Chris (Amy) Redland, Aaron (Chris) Brandt, Tanner Redland, Brant Mickelson, Brandon (Angela) Mickelson, Kali Stene, Travis (Jenifer) Stene, and Randy (Brittney) Stene, 14 great grandchildren, Alexis, Cody, and Brady Holte; Aubrey, Avery, and Regan Okroi; Jaxson and Ryen Brandt; Gaven and Aiden Nelson; Ava, Ian, Pierce, and Kiara Stene; one great-great grandchild, Ames Fassino, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy, in 1981, two brothers, Leroy and Allen, two sisters, Beverly and Audrey, and one grandson Brady Mickelson.

Funeral Service 1:00PM Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Halstad Lutheran Church, Halstad, MN.

Visitation: Wednesday from 5-7PM with a 6:30PM prayer service at Fredrikson Valley Funeral Home, Halstad, MN.

Burial: Augustana Lutheran Cemetery, rural Halstad, MN.
