Shirley A. "Penny" Krause, 84, Ada, MN, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer, at Essentia Health Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Penny was born on April 18, 1931, near Aneta, ND, the daughter of Olaf and Florence (Koloen) Reinhart. She attended school in Aneta and later moved to Ada in 1951. Penny was united in marriage to Ralph Krause on June 5, 1954, at Aneta. They made their home in Ada and Penny worked for the Green Lantern Restaurant and also for Rexall Pharmacy for many years.
Penny enjoyed her gardening and love of flowers. She was known to be a great cook and baker and also a talented seamstress. Over the years, Penny and Ralph were active snowmobilers and would ride many miles around the region each winter.
Penny is survived by her husband, Ralph, two sisters, Clarice (Lynn) Disbrow, and Fern (Richard) Baldwin, both of Reno, NV, brother-in-law, Gerald (Jean) Krause, Detroit Lakes, MN, sister-in-law, Eleanor (Bill) Anderson, Valley City, ND, and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Brianna (Brandon) Solie, Ada, MN; who was like a special granddaughter to Penny and Ralph. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Orris and Vernon, sister, Sylvia Henderson, and sister-in-law, Rosella Krause Amann.
Memorial Service: 2PM Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.
