Senora Nelson, age 94, of Twin Valley, MN, died Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Twin Valley Living Center, Twin Valley, MN.

Senora Isabel Strommen, the daughter and only child of Lars and Dora (Sagen) Strommen, was born on June 23, 1923, in Twin Valley. She was baptized and confirmed in faith at the Zion Lutheran Church. While growing up, Senora attended school in Fargo, ND and Twin Valley, where she graduated high school in 1941. She attended the Robinson School of Hairdressing in Minneapolis and graduated in 1944. She was employed as a sub clerk at the Twin Valley Post Office from November 1944 through October 1956. On February 13, 1954, Senora was united in marriage to Lawrence L. Nelson in Moorhead, MN. She returned to work for the Twin Valley Post Office again from February 1969 until retirement in July 1983. Senora moved into the Twin Valley Living Center on June 21, 2013; and continued to make her home there up until her passing.

Reading and doing handywork were some of the pastimes Senora enjoyed before her failing eyesight made them impossible for her. She was an avid plate collector that proudly displayed her collection on the walls of her home. Senora and Lawrence traveled extensively throughout the United Stated during their vacations.

She is survived by many friends.

Preceding Senora in death are her parents, Lars and Dora; her husband, Lawrence, in 1989; and her son, Lindsay Peter, in 1982.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Anderson Family Funeral Home, Twin Valley.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Twin Valley.
