Ruth J. Anderson, age 86, of Twin Valley, Minnesota died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in the Twin Valley Living Center.

Ruth Jean Askelson, the daughter of Thomas and Alma (Urdahl) Askelson, was born on April 29, 1927 near Heiberg, Minnesota where she was raised. Ruth was baptized and confirmed her faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Twin Valley by Pastor C.W. Aanestad and attended country school in the area. As a young lady, Ruth worked as a housekeeper for a family near Borup, Minnesota. She was later employed at the Lutheran Memorial Nursing Home in Twin Valley for seven years as a Nurse's Aide.

On June 16, 1963 Ruth was united in marriage to Morris Anderson at Zion Lutheran Church in Twin Valley. While she was a member there, Ruth taught Sunday school for many years and was very active in the church choir. The couple made their home in Twin Valley all of their married life. Following Morris' death on July 2, 1998, Ruth continued to live in her home until entering the Twin Valley Living Center in November of 2011, where she has resided since.

Ruth enjoyed going fishing with Morris as well as helping him groom the yards in their neighborhood. Ruth was currently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she greatly enjoyed the activities of the Ladies Aid. She also loved to spend time visiting with friends and family.

Ruth is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as several cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral Services were held Monday, September 30, 2013 at 10:30 am in Trinity Lutheran Church, Twin Valley. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Interment was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Twin Valley.
