Russell Eugene Mansfield, 56, of Perley, MN, died suddenly on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at his home. Russell was born on January 16, 1960, to Alfred and Sheryl (Welge) Mansfield in Fayette, MO. He attended school in St. Charles, MO and graduated from high school. Following his schooling, Russell moved to Fargo, ND, and began working for Don's Car Wash. He was later employed part time by the railroad.
On June 15, 1985, Russell was united in marriage to Vicky Vaineo at Cloquet, MN. They moved to Perley and Russell began a long career with American Crystal Sugar Company in Moorhead, MN. He worked in the bulk department and retired in 2015 as a supervisor in the loading department. Russell was diagnosed with cancer in 2014 and had been doctoring since.
Russell was an avid outdoors man. He loved to hunt, fish, scuba dive and camp. He was a devoted patriot of America and defended the 2nd Amendment. Riding his Harley Davison Bad Boy was a thrill for him. He worked hard and played hard. He had a committed and devoted friend in his dog "Thor". Above all else, Russell loved and cared for his family.
Russell is survived by his wife, Vicky, Perley, MN; one son Preston (Kara Swiggum) Moorhead, MN; two grandchildren: Serenity and Isabel Mansfield; his mother, Sheryl Mansfield, St. Louis, MO; one brother, Mike Mansfield, Troy, MO; one sister, Dennise Mansfield, St. Peter, MO; and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred on February 6, 2016.
Services will be held at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, Fayette, MO at 11AM Monday, July 25, 2016.
Visitation will one hour before the funeral at the Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, Fayette, MO.
Burial will be in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Fayette, MO
