Watch Recording of Rudy's Funeral
Rudolph "Rudy" Braseth, passed away Friday, November 27, 2020, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.
Rudy was born on May 19, 1952, in Moorhead, MN, to Orpha and Schuyler Braseth. He grew up near Ulen, MN, and attended Ulen High School. Rudy was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ulen. From an early age, Rudy enjoyed farming with his family and continued to farm throughout his life. As a young man, he began building grain bins and he grew it into Braseth Sales and Construction. He later purchased the Ulen Building Supply in 1997 and had continued his success in all his businesses throughout his life. He was grateful to be able to work alongside his sons and to have a great crew throughout the years.
Its impossible to put into words the impact that Rudy has had on all who knew him. His kindness and generosity will be missed by many. His support of local businesses and the surrounding communities will be felt for many years to come. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy!
There were few places you could go where Rudy wasn't known and loved. You knew he was on his way when he would send music to juke box from his phone. Mr. B was well known at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas and made a great group of friends there throughout the years. He also enjoyed being at the lake with family and friends, traveling, snowmobiling, and hunting. When he wasn't out working or visiting friends, he could be found in his recliner watching old westerns.
Rudy will be remembered and forever missed by Melissa; his sons: Dana (Missy Hansen) Braseth, Derek (Dawn) Braseth, Jamie (Denelle Wibe) Braseth, Brady (Leslie) Braseth, Blake Braseth, and Brett Braseth; his employees, extended family and friends and the community of Ulen; his grandchildren: Kaden, Bryce, Brooklyn, Tanner, Dylan, Toby, Brynn, Amber Borgen, and Adam Wibe; his great grandchildren: Liam, Adin, and Jack; his brothers: Steve (Lonnie) Braseth, Robert (Sandy) Braseth, and Randy (Julie) Braseth; his sisters, Heidi Hall and Kristi (Jeff) Knutson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orpha and Schuyler Braseth; his grandchildren, Bria and Chase; and nephew, Cory Braseth.
A Walk-through visitation will be held for the public from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ulen. Following all Covid-19 safety protocols, social distancing will be practiced, and all must wear a mask to participate.
A private funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. A link to the livestream of Rudy's service will be available shortly. A video of the service will also be available shortly following the service.
