Ruby M. Odegaard, 84, Ada, MN, formerly Halstad, MN, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at Bridges Care Community, Ada, MN.

Ruby Mae was born July 30, 1927, to Thomas and Grace (Falconer) Dowling, in Hamilton, ND. She attended school in Minto, ND and Georgetown, MN, until 8th grade. During Ruby's younger years she babysat for 100 different children, including her nieces and nephews.

Ruby was united in marriage to Lowell Odegaard on May 18, 1963, at the Presbyterian Church in Minto, ND. She worked at the Bethany Rest Home, as a baker at the Powers Hotel Coffee Shop, and St. John's Hospital all in Fargo. They moved to Halstad in 1987, where she resided until becoming a resident at Bridges Care Community. Ruby liked to bake, cook and can vegetables. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and wood burning,

Ruby is survived by two sons, Raymond, of Halstad, and Bradley (Carrie), of Shelly, MN, one sister, Jane Olson, Red Lake Falls, MN, 3 step grandchildren, and 8 step great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lowell, two sisters, Elizabeth and Ruth and one brother Raymond.

Funeral Service: 10;30am, Friday, October 7, 2011, at Grandin Presbyterian church, Grandin, ND.

Visitation: 5:00-7:00pm with a 7pm prayer service Thursday at Fredrikson Valley Funeral Home, Halstad, MN.

Burial: North Pleasant Cemetery, rural Hickson, ND.
