Roy Clayton Rasmusson, 88, Ada, MN, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Bridges Care Community in Ada.

Roy was born at home in Anthony Township, rural Ada, on October 28, 1924, the son of Oscar and Clara (Holm) Rasmusson. He attended country school in Hegne Township. In April, 1945 he entered the United States Navy and was discharged in August, 1946 at the end of World War II. In the late 1940's he farmed and did custom combining from Oklahoma to Minnesota. From 1952 to 1954, he managed the Ada Bowling Center. In May of 1954, he worked for Nash and Nelson Plumbing & Heating. In 1955 he bought out the business and Rasmusson Plumbing and Heating was formed. In 1968 he sold the plumbing and kept the heating and air conditioning until retiring in 1986.

On August 12, 1955, Roy was united in marriage to Muriel Ness at First Lutheran Church, in Ada, which later became Grace Lutheran of which they are confirmed members. Roy loved spending time with his family and had a passion for music of all types.

Roy is survived by his wife, Muriel, son, Scott (Kristy) Rasmusson, Granite Falls, MN, daughter, Julie (John) Hanson, Baldwin, WI, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ardis Jacobson.

Funeral: 11:00AM Monday, May 13, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.

Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
