Ross Brueshoff, 83, Ada, MN died Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Bridges Care Community, Ada, MN.

Roswell (Ross) Brueshoff was born at home in Anthony Township rural Ada, MN on November 7, 1928 to Lavi H. and Bertha (Baumgarten) Brueshoff. He was the oldest of 6 children in the family. He grew up on the family farm and attended District 103 through eighth grade. Afterwards he helped on the family farm. His father was killed in a tragic farm accident when Ross was 20 years old. Consequently, Ross helped his mother keep the family together and kept the farm operational. Later, along with farming, he worked at in the laboratory at American Crystal Sugar Beet Factory in Moorhead, MN for 14 years during the processing campaign.

On June 10, 1967 Ross married Harriet Blau in Ada, MN and they continued farming in Anthony Township while raising 3 children: Todd, Nancy, and Patsy. Enjoyable years were spent following their activities. When Ross' health started to decline they rented out their land and Ross did seasonal work for Buddy and Tom Carlson. The farm was sold in 1997 and they moved to Ada, MN.
Ross was a John Deere man and farmed with it all those years. For several years he collected John Deere tractors and restored them. He also collected John Deere toys and memorabilia as a hobby in his retirement years. Photography was another hobby. A neat yard was a source of pride for Ross and he became known as the "neighborhood neatnik".

Ross' faith in God was a source of strength to him during his life. He served in numerous positions in church during his years at the East Marsh River Lutheran Church, rural Halstad, MN. Harriet and Ross joined Grace Lutheran Church when they moved to Ada. His children and their families have been a source of joy to him: Todd Brueshoff of Chicago, IL, Nancy (Keith) Youngberg and sons, Kyle and Ryan, of Neenah, WI, and Patsy (Wayne) Winkler and daughter, Destiny, of Valley City, ND. He liked to hear of their accomplishments and involvement in all their activities.

Ross was a quiet, contemplative person but tuned in to his surroundings. When you least expected it Ross would offer a comment or two! He entered Bridges Care Community in December of 2011.

In addition to his wife, Harriet, children and grandchildren, other survivors include his sisters, Doris (Dave) Lundon, Crookston, MN, Jean (Glenn) Tollerud, Moorhead, MN, and Mavis Hedin, Fargo, ND, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lavi and Bertha Brueshoff and sister Marlene Hoven and brother Delmar Brueshoff.

Funeral services: Thursday, April 26, 2012, at 11:00AM in Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.
Visitation: Thursday from 9:30AM to 11:00AM at the church.
Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
