Rose M. Benesh, 85, Ada, Minnesota, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Benedictine Care Community, Ada.
Rose was born on the family farm near Waubun, MN, on March 27, 1931, the daughter of John and Martha (Winter) Stalboerger. She graduated from Waubun High School in 1950. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Norbert Diekman Dentistry in Mahnomen. Rose was united in marriage to Delmar Benesh on November 21, 1957, and made their home on a farm north of Ada.
Rose was stay-at-home mom until all her children started school. Over the years, she waitressed at Yost Café and Faye's Café of Ada and also worked as a store clerk at Engelhardt Drug in Ada. For over 20 years, she worked for REM Group Home in Ada until she retired. This was her favorite career, as she loved taking care of the residents of the group homes. Rose was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Ada VFW Auxiliary.
They lived on the farm until eleven years ago when they moved into Ada. You would always see Rose and Delmar driving around together. This included daily coffee trips to Lana Jo's and Cenex. She enjoyed gardening, watching their grandchildren participate in sports, and going to local auction sales. She even had her own bidding #5 with Bill Berg Auctions.
Rose is survived by her husband, Delmar, one sister Doris Underdahl (Richfield, MN), her children: Kimberly (James) Krogstad of Ada, Melissa Benesh of Moorhead, Dallas Benesh of Moorhead, and Sandra (Kelly) Gunderson of Ada, six grandchildren: Heather (Paul) Brommenschenkel, Kristen (Zach) Poehler, Lauren (Jake) Zima, Brittany (Justin) Pavek, Corin (Lance) Bragstad, and Garrett Gunderson, six great grandchildren: Jimi Brommenschenkel, Brooke Brommenschenkel, Bailee Brommenschenkel, Alex Poehler, Chase Poehler, Max Zima and several nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers: Ervin, Donald, Wilfred, and John Jr.
Funeral Mass: 11:00AM, Saturday, May 21, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ada.
Visitation: Saturday from 9:00-11:00AM at the church.
Interment: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
