Rosanna Smith, age 93, of Ulen, MN passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020 at the Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen.

Rosanna M. Smith, 4 ^th child of Gust and Lydia (Siegert) Buenther, was born in Hunter, ND, December 4, 1926, at the home of her grandmother. She attended and graduated from Bohnsack School, as valedictorian, at Hillsboro, ND. She was baptized, confirmed and married at St. John Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Rosanna attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND. She then worked for Western State Life Insurance Company. She traveled and lived in Kentucky for a period of time before returning to Hillsboro in 1952. She went to work for the Army and Air Force recruiting service as a supervisor of Civilian Personal.

Rosanna married Ervin Smith in February of 1955. They farmed in Ulen, MN, until the time of Ervin's death in December, 1985. After Ervin's death, Rosanna worked as a waitress at the Flom Café, she also served as treasurer for the Ulen Township for 15 years. In November of 2005 Rosanna left the farm and moved into Ulen where she lived until the time of her death.

Rosanna had four great loves in life; family, fishing, flowers and travel. She was able to visit 47 of the 50 states.

Rosanna is survived by her daughter, Virginia Bacon (Pat Dusick); son, Richard (Mary) Smith; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one great great grandson and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin; an infant son, Allen L. Smith; her parents and her siblings.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Any memorials received will be directed to the Calvary Lutheran Church cemetery fund.
